This FREE workshop will include an overview of the many services and resources of Area Agencies on Aging and the Alamo Service Connection, an Aging, Veteran, and Disability Resource Center. Topics will include:
- Medicare Benefits and Medicare Extra Help Programs
- Legal Assistance and Advanced Directives
- Access to direct services for seniors, such as home modifications, home providers, and medication assistance
- Caregiver Services
- Long Term Care Services
- Services for Grandparents Raising Grandchildren
- Transportation Resources
- Preventing Medicare Fraud and Senior Medicare Patrol
- Health and Wellness education
- Ombudsman services for nursing facilities
- Veteran Services and the Alamo Call-A-Ride 4 Vets program
- Other AACOG services, such as Weatherization and Alamo Local Authority for Intellectual and Developmental Disabilities
